Randi Thompson has been working with horses and horse people for over three decades. She received her original certification from the Meredith Manor School of International Horsemanship in 1978. Ms. Thompson was certified as a Master Clinician and Instructor with the Horsemanship Safety Association where she certified and taught both clinicians and instructors. Randi has taught Horsemanship Safety Association clinics in Michigan, Maine, South Carolina, Texas, and Tennessee. She has trained and certified over 100 instructors and clinicians. Now she is known as a trainer’s trainer, teaching riders, instructors and trainers of all breeds and styles of riding.
Ms.Thompson has attended clinics and seminars with internationally known trainers in dressage, jumpers, and hunters. Randi has also participated in three USDF Violet Hopkins National Dressage Instructors Programs.
Randi Thompson has qualified for and attended the United States Equestrian Federations judge training programs in Hunters, Hunter Seat Equitation and Jumpers. She learner judged at the Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington, Florida for four years with the best judges in the world. Randi also attended two “L” USDF (U.S. Dressage Federation) programs while living in Florida. Ms. Thompson has been a North Carolina registered Horse Show judge.
In 1979 Randi Thompson trade marked her Horse and Rider Awareness® program. Randi has received national recognition for her successful techniques including headlining with presentations at the Equine Affaire, the United States Pony Club National Convention, the Florida Pet and Horse Expos, and many other regional and local equestrian events. Ms. Thompson was a featured guest on nationally syndicated radio talk show, “The Horse Show” with Rick Lamb. The topic was, “What you need to do before taking a non-riding guest for a ride”.
Randi Thompson has had training features published monthly in the following publications. Horse and Pony (Florida), Florida Horseman Magazine, and the Gold Coast Dressage monthly newsletter, Flying Changes. Her training articles have also been featured on Equinesite.com and the North Carolina Horse News
Randi has given many presentations on safe horsemanship and equine liability that have been sponsored by local horse organizations.
DVDs: Randi Thompson is now producing her first educational horsemanship will be on “How to introduce a new rider to a horse”. It is designed to show any person how to safely put a rider on a horse and teach them the basics.
